How to be positive when you don’t feel like it…

Okay, you caught me.

I finally had a moment to myself and couldn’t think of what to write about.

The more I thought, the more I realized I might need to adjust my attitude.

You may have heard of dialing for dollars, well I believe in googling for truth.

I got a lot of interesting results, but a Medium article by Darius Foroux really hit home.

Darius shared a two thousand year old quote from the Stoic philosopher Epictetus,

“So when we are frustrated, angry or unhappy, let’s hold ourselves responsible for these emotions because they are the result of our judgments.”

I like Darius’s article because it assigns responsibilities for my feelings where they belong, in my lap.

After taking Darius’s advice, I couldn’t help thinking, I’ll probably feel a lot better when I,

  • Catch up on my sleep (since I’ve been short-changing myself and not getting enough hours of shut-eye.)
  • Get back to running. After all, I’m over the cold and nothing feels betters than the endorphins produced by a jog around the neighborhood..

How about you?

Is there something you can do that will make you happier?
